Happy Mothers (D Mamas) Day!

Isn't this the cutest!??! You can find this free printable at the http://holidaysnobs.blogspot.com/The Holiday Snob

I know that all those D Mamas out there work super hard to keep all the D Kiddos running! Moms are the hidden heroes of this world. They juggle so many things! Then there are D Mamas, who do all that , and keep kids ALIVE, and spread awareness about the true life with T1D! Now if that isn't impressive I don't know what is!

My hats off to you for all your hard work, and to my own D Mama, who still never lets me fall! I love you! Happy Mother's Day!

A Weekend Adventure

To "No Mans Land"
aka: Promontory Point and ATK

We went for a little "adventure" and went to Promontory Point. Where the "East and West Joined" the country together by railroad.

Our first stop was at ATK (formally known as Thiokol) My dad worked there for many years doing secret government stuff, and blowing up things (Or that's how we though about it as kids) This is the "rocket garden". Seeing this, and reading about bombs, and rockets scares the crap out of me! Its so secret and scary. . . .

This freaks me out!

What's really creepy is that most of these displays are from things made in the 50's!

Not far is the "Golden Spike" Visitors Center
Click here for a quick history lesson

SO COLD!
We had wind burn on our cheeks the next day :(

It's not an adventure without Abigale Sheepie!
A fun, cold adventure!

Leave This Woman Alone!

*This is meant for the media*

Did Paula Deen’s diet cause her diabetes?

Not to sound like that crazy "Leave Brittany Alone" kid, but come on! Paula Deen is a cutie! She's sweet, happy, and loves food! So, because she is a little chunky and has Type 2 Diabetes now she is the Devil of the Food Network!? NOBODY deserves Diabetes, Type 1 or 2! I'm tired of hearing all the crap about fat people! It's not because I'm overweight, but because it's cruel.

Sadly, this has even linked up in the cancer world too. Can you imagine it? Chastising a poor bald woman fighting breast cancer because she's overweight? It's already starting and it's just sick!

We live in a world where the media portrays dangerously skinny women as "role models" and makes any person feel inadequate for being normal.

Dr. Benjamin with children participating in Let's Move

Who's this cute lady? She is the Surgeon General. Check out her website HERE . She talks about making health "joyful" and finding out what makes you find "your own" joy in health. She also talks about "Its not about telling you what you can and can't eat", but having fun, and making your life the best it can be!

I just wish her message was celebrated and more freely passed along.

This is not beautiful, healthy, and I am sure this "woman" is not happy. We all need to move our bodies, and eat more veggies, but we need to enjoy doing it, and realize that many overweight people are proud of their current weight because they once weighed more than they do, and they are taking control of their lives, and finding joy in loosing weight.

People may chastise a 250 pound woman and say she is grossly "obese" (another cruel word) but what if she weighed over 400 pounds and was on a healthy diet, and was proud of getting down to 250? How does that change how people feel about her?

"Food" for thought!

If you want to laugh SO HARD, you gotta watch this! :)

Thinking about this CUTIE!!!

This adorable lady is Dorella! It's amazing how small the world really is! She was one of the first people I met when I started working at Williamsburg 71/2 years ago. She is Tyler's Grandma! Now she's my Grandma too! She has always been so sweet to me. I was going through some stuff on my computer and had to show her off! What an amazing Grandma! The awesomeness must run in their family! Love you Grandma!

Christmas Review in pictures

I Couldn't get my pictures to turn...... Sorry! :(

This was my first Christmas as Mrs. Bott, and what a wonderful Christmas it was! We had so much fun, and did so many fun things!

"Dasher and Dancer"

We went to "This is the Place" State Park It is an old Pioneer town and it was so cold that day! We took some presents and handmade items down to Primary Children's Medical Center, and decided to hang around Salt Lake because we were going to hang out with all Tyler's family later. It was soooooo stinkin' cold! We half froze, and because most things started after dark we wandered around freezing, but still it was fun!

We later went to Chuck a Rama with the family! I am so lucky to have so many adorable nieces and nephews! It melts my heart to see them playing with their Uncle T. They love him so much, and he really loves them. They really share a special bond. It makes me really happy they warmed up so quickly to me too! I know some people's nieces and nephews never do, but these kids treat me like they have known me forever and that makes me so happy. We later went to Gardener Village, and looked around the shops, and went "Elf Hunting". I was dubbed the one with the "Elf Radar"!

We saw this cow, I'm not going to lie, it was probably my favorite thing there, I really want one! Isn't it cute?

On the little train ride around the village. Ty and I were the only ones there haha! My honey's face says it all!
Who needs Santa when I have this cutie!?

Beautiful stained glass windows. I love in the spring morning when the light shines through and the sanctuary glows so beautifully. I get lost in that gaze.

We went to candle light service and it was beautiful. It is my favorite part of Christmas. I love the music and the telling of Christ's birth! (it's nice too because my parents live right across from the church!

At my parents house we lit up our traditional luminaries!

Our 9 ft Christmas Tree! It's sad but the pictures do it no justice!
All the ornaments are reds, greens, browns, and golds.

Yay for presents! (Come on, who doesn't love presents?)

Our 71/2 foot tree in the kitchen. This is the Victorian tree I decorated when I lived in my apartment.

Our Living Room (We have really high ceilings)

Our first Christmas Feast! What a wonderful time!

Bring on 2012! Here's wishing you a year of nothing but wonderful things!
